Peace and Democracy in Colombia
In this eight version of “Together for peace in Colombia” we want to examine the link between the peace process and democracy in Colombia. What kind of democratic space exists in Colombia today? Can a strengthening of the freedom of expression, right to assembly, and political participation of historically underrepresented groups strengthen the peace process? Does the peace agreement from 2016 hold some of the answers to the democratic challenges of today’s Colombia? Or are other measures needed?
This year also marks five years of implementation of the peace accord between the FARC-EP and The Colombian State. Therefore, in the final session we wish to explore the current status of the implementation of the peace agreement. Furthermore discuss how Norwegian and other international actors should contribute to its further implementation and more generally support the peace effort in Colombia.

Paz y Democracia en Colombia
En este octavo capítulo del seminario "Juntos por la Paz en Colombia" queremos examinar el vínculo del proceso de paz con la democracia en Colombia. Qué tipo de espacios democráticos tenemos hoy día en Colombia? Se puede consolidar el proceso de paz a través de un fortalecimiento de la libertad de expresión, el derecho a la protesta y la participación política de grupos históricamente marginados? Será que el acuerdo de paz de 2016 contiene las respuestas para los retos democráticos actuales en Colombia? O hacen falta otras medidas?
Este año marca también los cinco años de implementación desde el acuerdo de paz entre las FARC-EP y el Estado colombiano, por lo cual vamos a conocer en la última sesión de la conferencia el status actual de la implementación del acuerdo de paz. Vamos a discutir además cómo actores noruegos e internacionales pueden contribuir en el avance de la implementación y también en términos generales, cómo pueden apoyar en los esfuerzos por lograr la paz en Colombia.
