CHIEF STATE BIO
Chief State is rain-drenched pop punk from Vancouver BC. Though geographically from the rainy PNW, musically they take you back to the early 2000s in Southern California, drenched not by rain but in nostalgia! They deal in pop punk at its most bittersweet, delivering as much sonic high-energy as you could possibly hope for while lyrically underpinning positive messages into stories of angst. The band has gone from strength to strength since releasing their debut EP ‘Nothing More Than This’. Their follow up release ‘Tough Love’ surpassed expectation despite the untimely outbreak of Covid-19. They released their debut full-length ‘Waiting For Your Colours’ in 2022, which has since ammassed over 2 million streams on Spotify alone. The quartet has toured all across Canada and the US, and previously completed a DIY tour of the UK. They’ve also performed alongside notable acts such as The Wonder Years, Silverstein, Seaway, Comeback Kid, Mom Jeans, Cancer Bats, Set It Off, Belmont, Such Gold and Hawthorne Heights among others. The band has been tipped as one to watch by notable publications like Alt Press, Rock Sound and New Noise. Chief State now aim to reach new heights with the upcoming release of their sohomore album in 2025.
