Meet and chat with some fun, Jungian inspired folks. Everyone welcome!
10am Saturday, September 6th
GoMA cafe - Southbank, Brisbane
The Toad Pond gathering is an initiative hosted by Florence Forrest, the Society’s President, Communications Officer and Librarian.
It’s intended to make a place in which to share, encourage and be stimulated by not only our local conversation in the Society but also by the wonderful wellsprings of interest in the psyche taking place around the world. No experience is required, only curiosity and a friendly desire to be “in the room” for what might ferment with our coming together over coffee in a convivial environment.
GoMA cafe is currently accessed due to renovations from the main hall inside GoMA behind the escalators. Meet outside the front of GoMA at 10am or look for Toadalina, the Toad Pond mascot, on our table if arriving late.
The gathering lasts at least an hour but often runs on as the mood and people’s plans allow.

Marie-Louise Von Franz is the inspiration behind the Toad Pond as seen in the historical interview below by Suzanne Wagner of the C.G.Jung Institute of Los Angeles in 1979 at Marie Louise Von Franz’ tower at Bolligen.
S - “What was here when you first came?”
MLvF - “There was only a water hole as big as that (small area). And I dug it out.”
“In German it (the toads) are called Unke. It doesn’t croak. It makes a very delicate sound. You hear it very far in the woods. It’s a delicate but penetrating sound.”
Watch the video below for more about Marie-Louise von Franz’ toad pond.
