About this Event
Welcome to our TNB Teen Book Club! The book club will meet every other month, giving teens plenty of time to get and finish the book while keeping up with other responsibilities like school.
For our first meetup we are reading Legend by Marie Lu, a young adult dystopian novel.
Parents, you are welcome and encouraged to participate with your teens! Please feel free to read along and join in on the discussion. Please also note that some of the books we choose may have more mature themes. We will always be transparent with book content warnings so you can make the best decision for your child.
Legend follows two 15-year-olds in the Republic, an area formerly known as the U.S. that is perpetually at war with its neighbors. One teen was born into an elite family and is a prodigy for the Republic’s highest military circles. The other was born into the slums and is now the country’s most wanted criminal. Please note: this book has some intense depictions of violence. Other content warnings include the death of a parent, torture, gun violence and M**der. The book is recommended for teens 13+.
