Walter Anderson is a partner at HWG LLP in Washington, DC, where he helps clients confront complex—and frequently novel—legal issues. He has guided companies through high-stakes government investigations, advised on compliance with ever-changing state and federal regulatory regimes, and successfully litigated disputes over issues that range from IP licensing, to financing of trash incinerators, to construction of fiber-optic communications networks on land and at sea. Walter is also a Nashville native who views Nissan Stadium as one of his happy places and, as a child, learned how to gracefully accept defeat through years of Vanderbilt Football fandom.

Pat O’Donnell has been a Washington lawyer for over 25 years, mostly at HWG LLP, where he co-founded the firm’s litigation practice in 2000. He has three main practice areas: white-collar criminal investigations, complex civil litigation, and legal ethics. Pat’s white-collar cases have run the gamut from financial fraud to politics to pollution. His civil practice has been similarly diverse, including consumer class-action defense, twice defending a foreign sovereign in federal court, and litigating a unique dispute over rights in the Intracoastal Waterway in Florida. For many years, he was the main defender of the intellectual property rights of Waterford Wedgwood in the United States. Pat has focused on legal ethics throughout, both as HWG’s general counsel for most of the firm’s history and in counseling and defending other lawyers on legal ethics issues.

As a former design engineer, he takes a multidisciplinary approach to his work which draws on his background in mechanical and medical technologies to better serve clients.

Eric Raciti, partner at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, has more than 25 years of experience advising companies as a trusted advisor on intellectual property matters. He received his formational training in industrial systems engineering, learning the importance of a multidisciplinary approach that includes a marriage of technology and business processes. Earlier in his career, Eric worked as a patent examiner for five years at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in the field of medical devices, and later, after earning his masters of laws degree, for the Commissioner of Patents in the Office of Legislative and International Affairs. Eric previously served as an adjunct professor at the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law, where he taught a course on technology licensing. A frequent speaker on intellectual property matters, Eric has delivered dozens of seminars across North America and Europe on a wide range of topics to audiences of lawyers, business managers and engineers.
