Thank you for your interest in the Tender Loving Care: Caring for the Dying — Holistic Education Courses, held every two months in person in Cornwall. The course has been commissioned by NHS England (NHSE) and is hosted by fully trained Soul Midwives and complementary therapists, Anna Sadler and Christina Murt RN.
This course is open to everyone, but especially welcomes people in a caring role either professionally or personally, people interested in training as holistic end-of-life companions, and anyone who would like to understand what happens at the end of life to feel more prepared.
The course provides a gentle, inviting, and heartwarming space, fostering a safe, compassionate environment for connection, understanding, and care.
Friends who have attended the course while caring for loved ones in palliative care often share how it has helped to ease the “sting” of death and dying, making these experiences less overwhelming and reducing feelings of anxiety.
Those who have attended after their loved one has passed recommend joining as soon as possible. Many find comfort in understanding the dying process better and feel reassured that they did everything they could during that time.
Care professionals from various backgrounds say the course provides practical tools to support families and help them understand how to assist. They also appreciate how it complements medical care, bridging gaps and fostering better collaboration between professional teams and families.
Our goal is to normalize conversations around death and dying, creating a safe space to openly share and discuss the natural process of dying. By doing so, we hope everyone feels more prepared and informed before the time comes.
The course brings hope and peace of mind, helping to reduce anxiety and overwhelm, so we can approach these moments with greater understanding, compassion, and presence.
This course is a certified program in partnership with the School of Soul Midwives and Felicity Warner, and it serves as your first step if you're interested in becoming an end-of-life companion.
However, it is also a standalone course, warmly welcoming anyone eager to learn the art of gentle dying and to reclaim the wisdom of being present with others at the end of life. Whether you're aiming to deepen your practice or simply want to gain valuable skills and understanding, this course offers a compassionate and enriching experience for all.
Friends can expect a supportive, warm container for the day — a nurturing space which helps to reduce fear, vulnerability, and anxiety.
Many previous attendees have shared that this training should be essential for everyone. The vital skills and learning in compassionate care helps to foster a sense of community, and reduces the fear around death & dying.
