Tiny Treasures showcases cherished moments captured through the brush of artist Valery Wachter. Inspired by travels with family and friends, Valery transforms photographs into paintings that invite a deeper, more personal reflection. Each piece requires careful attention to detail, reconnecting her with the memories of a specific time and place.Marbles, with their bold and brilliant colors, are treasures in their own right and reflect her fascination with vibrant hues. Likewise, the luminous array of colors found in flowers continues to bring her immense joy—an energy that shines throughout this collection.
Valery Wachter is a dedicated member of the Lincoln arts community. She has served on the Friends of UNL Art Department board, MEDICI, the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts Alumni Board and the selection committee for the Mayor’s Arts Awards. She is represented by the Burkholder Project Gallery and is a founding and current member of the Bryan Health Art Committee. Valery holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Her work is included in private collections across the country and her sculpture Nebraska Wildflowers is permanently installed on the Bryan East Campus.
