I’m 17 years old, and I was born with cerebral palsy. I’ve been writing ever since I was seven years old, and from the very beginning, stories became a part of who I am. I published my first book at just 14 years old, my most recent at 16, and today I’m proud to say I have four books: one poetry book, two chapter books, and one mini story.
It has taken me a lot to get where I am today—and I know it will take even more to get where I’m meant to be—but every step has been worth it. Writing isn’t just something I do; it’s something I live. My favorite color is purple, and one thing I will always stand by is this: stories deserve to have meaning. I believe the stories I write are pieces of me, and they deserve a reason to live through every page.
You can learn a lot about my story through my books—but they can also become a part of yours. My books are available at Dawn’s Creations Boutique, and if one needs to be ordered, I can sign it once it arrives and even add a personalized message just for you.
If I could give one piece of advice, it would be this: don’t ever give up on your dreams. Whether it’s writing, art, or something completely different—if you love it, chase it. Even when it’s hard. We’ve all been through hard things, and we all deserve a hobby or a career that brings us joy. Every author I’ve met has encouraged me to keep going, no matter how difficult it got, and that encouragement has meant everything to me.
If you have a hero you look up to, remember this: they never gave up on their dream—and neither should you. We all deserve to live fully, to create, and to be seen.
