About this Event
Ready to unlock the world of hardware hacking — Christmas-edition style?
In this beginner-friendly workshop, families will explore the Raspberry Pi RP2040 microcontroller using the super fun Badger e-paper badge, then code it to display animations, icons, messages, pixel art and more.
🖥️ What you’ll do in this session:
- Learn what a microcontroller is (and why it’s NOT the same as a computer)
- Code simple visuals & messages using beginner-friendly tools
- Flash custom animations that stay on screen even without power
- Turn your Badger badge into a wearable, name tag, holiday ornament, or mini display
- Take home the hardware so you can keep hacking after the workshop
🎁 What you’ll bring home:
✅ 1 Raspberry Pi RP2040 “Badger” device (yours to keep)
✅ All code files from the workshop
✅ Skills in basic electronics + microcontroller programming
✅ A cool badge that literally holds its display like magic
