Join us to celebrate Pasifika on the screen for a special evening featuring the critically-acclaimed and award-winning film Tinā.This powerful cinematic event includes a screening of the film, followed by an exclusive Q&A session with the celebrated film's award winning actor in person Anapela Polata’ivao (Tinā) and multi-award-winning writer and director Vela Manusaute.
Anapela Polata’ivao is a groundbreaking Samoan-born actor and director, renowned for her work in theatre (Red, White & Brass, Wild Dogs Under My Skirt) and screen (HBO’s Our Flag Means Death). Vela Manusaute is a pioneering Niuean-Samoan creative force, co-founder of the Kila Kokonut Krew and the creator of New Zealand’s first bilingual English-Tongan TV series.
This event is proudly presented by The Incubator Creative Hub, honouring Pasifika in the vital role of shaping Aotearoa’s cultural landscape. Made possible with generous funding from Creative New Zealand’s Pacific Arts Team.
