About this Event
Tina is a real jazz artist, who captivates listeners with the glorious husky timbre of her voice, an authentic sound that takes you back in time. A storyteller who connects with her audience, Tina brings her truth to songs old and new, songs that can be shamelessly emotional – and sometimes bitter-sweet. She sings from experience, improvises from a lifetime of listening.
A few years ago, Tina walked away from a busy professional life and threw herself into music-making. Since then, she has sung in London at Green Note, Hoxton Hall, Toulouse Lautrec and the Vortex Downstairs , Max Klub in Slovenia, Jazz Café Alto, Amsterdam, and has recently been performing sell-out duo gigs with Matt Robinson at intimate Soho venues, the Blue Posts and Maison Bertaux.
This autumn, she will be releasing her first album which will be available on CD, Vinyl, digital download and all streaming platforms.
On 28 June, Tina and her trio will be performing some songs by her favourite Thelonius Monk, and others that she loves. Playing with Tina will be Matt Robinson, award-winning pianist, composer and producer (www.mattrobinsonmusic.com) with whom Tina has been collaborating for the past three years; bassist, composer and bandleader Max Luthert (www.maxluthert.co.uk) and award-winning drummer and composer Jay Davis (www.jaydavismusic.com)
