Compete with other film teams to produce a 5-minute film for prizes! All levels of experience are invited to participate.
About this Event

Here's how it works:

-Register your team or sign up as a solo competitor here

-All teams meet at the Cowlitz County Historical Museum to recieve the four required criteria and can begin filming

-Teams have 72 hours to write, shoot, and edit a short film

-Films must be no more than five minutes, including credits

-Films must incorporate the four required elements

-Submissions are due at the Museum on the following Monday night by 7PM

-Awards will be determined by a panel of judges (except People's Choice)

-All submitted films are screened at the Kelso Theater Pub on Sunday, October 19 at 1PM


Save the Dates

Friday, October 10 at 7PM Teams meet at Cowlitz County Historical Museum (405 Allen St, Kelso) for final instructions and to be given the four elements required for each film. These elements may include, scene location, a line to use, a prop, or other criteria. Use of all four elements is required to be eligible for prizes.

Monday, October 13 at 7PM Submissions due at the Museum. Format to be in 1080p (Full HD), 16:9 aspect ratio, 24 fps, export at MP4 (H.264), stereo audio. 5-minute maximum length, including credits. Contact the Museum at (360)577-3119 with any questions regarding the format.

Sunday, October 19 at 1PM All films show on the big screen at the Kelso Theater Pub (214 S Pacific Ave, Kelso) for a viewing party. Doors open at noon, program begins at 1PM. Beverages and food are available for purchase from the Kelso Theater Pub's restaurant. Invite your friends and family to enjoy the films, tickets are $10.00 per person (admision is free for registered filmmakers and current historical society members). Winners will receive prizes. Proceeds support the museum.


Your $50 Registration gets you:

-Team members admission to the screening party on October 19, and four additional tickets

-Recognition of your film at the screening party

-The opportunity to have scores of people see your film on the big screen!

-The chance to wins prizes, including First Place, People's Choice award, and "Best Use" for each of the elements
