The STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® Series is excited to announce the return of The Original Extreme Sport to Coolangatta!On Friday (12th September), the Australian Rookie Championship will be starting at 2:00 PM, where 6 of the best up-and-coming talent in the under-25 division will be battling for the win. These young athletes will compete in five disciplines.
On Saturday (13th September), the event will start at 11:00 AM where the Australian Women's Championship will take place. The top female athletes in the country will compete for the top spot across 3 disciplines.
Following the Women's Championship, the Australian Pro Championship will feature 12 of Australia's top TIMBERSPORTS® athletes. In the Traditional Individual Format, Pro athletes will compete in six disciplines, split between axe, and saw events. The axe disciplines include Springboard, Underhand Chop, and Standing Block Chop, while the saw events feature Single Buck (single man crosscut saw), Stock Saw (STIHL’s MS 661 C-M chainsaw), and Hot Saw (tuned, customised chainsaw with up to 80 horsepower). Competitors will race against each other and the clock, with points awarded based on ranked times.
