Welcome to Timber Tales! We’re going to create some magnificent miniature masterpieces out of wood! Well, most of us are. This is an opportunity to try your hand at the age-old craft of whittling. Unlike modern wood carving with power tools and chisels, whittling is about creating delicate shapes and patterns out of wood using just a small knife. While you’re at it, sip on some delicious coffee, listen to some music, and let the art flow through you. This is just the perfect creative hobby. Age: 14+ What`s In Store We will dive deep into the art. Start by understanding the history of whittling and the correct techniques to this delicate craft. Once we absorb that, it’s time to wear your gloves, get your knives and start whittling! And before you ask, we will be providing all the tools and materials you need to get started — just bring your enthusiasm and imagination. You will each be given a few blocks of wood that surrender their bodies to our knives. What you make with it is only a subject of your imagination. It doesn’t even have to make sense. Just remember, it’s the journey and not the destination. Create something for yourself or a loved one. Once you are done, you can take it home and put it on a shelf for the world to see the artist in you. So, if you want to spend a few hours trying something new, this workshop could introduce you to that cool hobby you’ve always wanted to have. Join us and let’s carve out some memories together. What is an EM? At Vagabond, we don’t do `Trip Leaders`, `Tour Managers` or `Trip Captains`. Every Vagabond experience is hosted by an `Experience Manager` (AKA. EM). EMs are trained to do one job; help you have a comfortable, safe and fulfilling experience. They`re the beating heart of Vagabond. The very face and foundation of what we`ve been building for more than a decade. From being highly approachable, knowing our best games and breaking the ice, to `managing` your `experience` in a wholesome manner, they understand the vibe. Why we do what we do. If you`re an introvert and want to join solo, don`t worry. Our EMs will make sure you don`t feel left out :) Things You Need To Know 1. Please arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled time. If you’re late, you may miss the instructions, and trust us, that’s no fun. 2. This workshop is only open to individuals over the age of 14 years. 3. The carving tools provided are to be returned after the workshop. They are not to be taken home. 4. Limited seats are available for this workshop at an introductory price. 5. No tickets will be sold at the venue. If you plan to join us, book your ticket in advance. 6. There will be no refunds on tickets.
