The Tim Park Big Band features talented high school and college musicians from the Seattle area, performing original charts composed and arranged by Tim Park and Aytan Sternberg for the first time. Their music is influenced by a wide range of jazz, from legendary composers like Duke Ellington and Tadd Dameron to more contemporary musicians such as Roy Hargrove and Wynton Marsalis. Join us for the debut performance of Seattle's newest jazz ensemble!Tim Park is an emerging trumpet player and composer, currently a member of both the Garfield High School Jazz Ensemble 1 and the Bellevue College Jazz Band. As part of Garfield's renowned jazz program, he has twice performed at the prestigious Essentially Ellington competition at Jazz at Lincoln Center, earning accolades for his standout solo performances. Beyond performing, Timothy is also a budding composer, having written original charts and organized an ensemble of Seattle-based high school and college musicians. He serves as the student representative for the Garfield Jazz Foundation and is an active member of the student advisory board for the Seattle Jazz Fellowship, demonstrating his leadership and commitment to the jazz community.
