2024 sees the 150th anniversary of Modeste Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, which the Russian romantic composed in honour of his friend, the artist Viktor Hartmann.Tim Kliphuis and his Trio, a touring force on the UK scene for 18 years now, present a brand new Pictures at an Exhibition that showcases the daring innovations of Mussorgsky’s music through an exciting lens, and adds four Tim Kliphuis originals based on works by Van Gogh, Klimt, O’Keeffe and Hokusai.

To add to these, some Django Reinhardt Gypsy Jazz gems and one or two movements from climate hit The Five Elements, with which the Trio opened the United Nations Water Conference in March 2023.
During their long-lived career, the Tim Kliphuis Trio has gone from strength to strength. Recent highlights were the Princes Canal Concert and a Royal state visit to Sweden, collaborations with the Netherlands and Tallin Chamber Orchestras and Cape Town
Philharmonic Orchestra. Of the two Sony albums Reflecting the Seasons and Brandenburg, their innovative new version of Vivaldi’s masterpiece hit the number one spot on the i- Tunes charts.
