Tim Ball is a fiddler, guitarist, producer, and teacher from upstate New York, with deep roots in traditional New York, New England, and Irish-American fiddle music. Tim’s debut solo album Upstate Crossroads, featuring fiddle tunes and traditional songs from upstate New York and the surrounding old-time and Celtic traditions, was the #1 recording of January 2023 on the FAI Folk music chart.Tim will be joined Kevin Elam, a multi-instrumentalist and 2019 All-Ireland Champion in Men’s Singing. Although he boasts a strong background in classical piano and a degree in Jazz studies, Kevin is rooted in Irish traditional music. In addition to playing the tin whistle, flute, guitar, Irish bouzouki, mandolin and banjo, Kevin has also honed his skills as a singer and interpreter of Irish traditional song, cultivating a significant repertoire of ballads. In 2019 Kevin was awarded first place in Men’s English Singing at the 2019 Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, held in Drogheda, Ireland, and took home the coveted “Dalaigh Shield”, an award only won by one other American in its 62-year history.
We are delighted to welcome Tim back to the Cranberry Coffeehouse, and looking forward to Kevin’s debut performance here.
