The Volusia County Explore Volusia program invites you to climb aboard the eco-buggy with Education Specialist Tommy Nordmann, Environmental Specialist Holly Giles, and Florida Forest Service staff to witness a prescribed burn demonstration in Tiger Bay State Forest. You will also have the opportunity to see how Florida Forest Service equipment is used in the field. Forest rangers will be present to answer questions about equipment, prescribed fire, and wildfire awareness.
** Important note: Please arrive 15 minutes prior to complete a waiver. Waivers must be completed in full to participate in the program.
ACTIVITY: The tour will take place on a hay-ride style, covered trailer with benches. There will be some easy, short walks as well.
RESERVATIONS: Required. Unless you have a confirmation email, you are not registered.
TICKETS: No printed ticket is necessary.
AGES: All ages are welcome.
ATTIRE: closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing for the outdoors
WHAT TO BRING: water, sunscreen, and bug spray
FACILITIES: There will be bathrooms or port-a-lets on site.
