About this Event
TIER 2 - Restorative Mindset And Restorative Classroom Management*

*PREREQUISITE: Tier 1: Introduction to Restorative Justice Practices and Circle Training

Date: Thursday, July 18 and Friday, July 19, 2024

Time: 9am-3pm EST (each day)

Location: ONLINE, Center for Restorative Justice at Suffolk University

Cost: $425

Includes: Massachusetts PDP’s (12 hours)

This advanced two-day training focuses on how to use restorative justice practices to build a restorative classroom and to respond when classroom issues and disruptions arise. A range of Tier 2 practices will be covered, including restorative conversations with one or more participants, and circles responding to classroom culture issues as well as incidents of harm that have affected the entire class. With restorative practices, practitioners are able to address both the harm that has been caused as well as the underlying causes of the situation. These processes emphasize the importance of building connections, recognizing strengths, and repairing relationships when harm occurs. The training is experiential and skills-oriented; using realistic scenarios and interactive activities, the workshop will provide practical tools for problem-solving and restorative classroom management. Participants will have the opportunity to practice informal conferencing using the restorative questions and planning circles in response to classroom-wide issues and concerns.

This training will be facilitated in a virtual-circle Zoom meeting format. Participants will receive a Zoom meeting link and training materials a few days prior to the training.

Payments: Payments should be made prior to attending the training. For an invoice to generate purchase order payment please contact CRJ staff.
