Born and raised on the island of Moloka'i, Nainoa Langer is a filmmaker with a deep passion for rich visual storytelling. After spending years creating films in the travel industry, Nainoa developed a keen ability to capture the diversity and beauty of cultures, landscapes, and people around the world. His experiences ignited a passion for telling deeper stories, exploring the complexities of human experiences, highlighting their resilience, emotions, and everyday lives. Rooted in the natural and cultural heritage of Hawai'i, Nainoa's films bring these stories to life with stunning visuals, combining narrative depth and artistry to connect with audiences across the globe.
In collaboration with Tidepools at Central Pacific Bank, we present Nainoa Langer's LAYERS.
LAYERS is a groundbreaking short film series that delves deep into the multifaceted nature of the human experience. Through a bold and unapologetic lens, these films explore the hidden layers and motives behind artists, athletes, creators, musicians, cultural icons, and those who have laid their marks on the world, leading viewers on a cinematic journey that is both thought-provoking and emotionally resonant
In this screening, we will take a deep dive into the stories of four individuals who all have unique and cinema-worthy life experiences. Nainoa will also be premiering his newest episode of LAYERS!
You will have the chance to hear from these individuals on a deeper level with intimate conversations in the heart of Downtown Honolulu! The program for the evening will proceed as follows.
