Join us for an extraordinary and sacred evening as six Tibetan Buddhist monks from the Gaden Shartse Monastery begin the creation of a traditional Peace Sand Mandala at PHES Gallery. This profound opening ceremony features ancient chants, prayers, and rituals that consecrate the space and invite blessings of peace, compassion, and healing for all beings.
The mandala—created grain by grain over several days—is a powerful spiritual symbol representing harmony, wisdom, interconnection, and the impermanence of all things. Witnessing its consecration is a rare experience offered by authentic lineage monks who carry centuries of tradition.
All funds raised directly support the 1,700 monks who live, study, and practice at Gaden Shartse Monastery.
What to Expect
✨ Sacred Tibetan Chants & Prayers
The monks will open the ceremony with traditional chanting, invoking peace and setting the spiritual tone for the creation of the mandala.
✨ Consecration Ritual
A formal blessing of the mandala site using ritual instruments, incense, holy water, and symbolic gestures to purify the space and prepare it for the multi-day creation.
