About this Event
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
This workshop will focus on reconnecting with our loved ones, who are now our ancestors. We will write messages on prints of butterflies, hummingbirds, cempasúchil (marigold flowers), and other symbols we use for Día de los Muertos. These could be used for personal altars at home.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
- Saturday, October 26, 2024 | 3:30pm-5pm
- All materials will be provided.
- Light refreshments and snacks will be sold on-site.
AGE REQUIREMENTS
- Minors under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
PARKING
We are located in a shopping plaza right next to Food4Less. Parking is free.

DESCRIPCIÓN DEL TALLER
Este taller se centrará en reconectarnos con nuestros seres queridos que ahora son antepasados. Estaremos escribiendo mensajes en estampados de mariposas, colibríes, cempasúchil y otros símbolos que usamos para el Día de los Muertos. Estos podrían usarse para altares personales en casa.

About our teaching artist:
Xitlalic Guijosa-Osuna is a Southeast L.A. Michoacana-Sinaloense, poeta, visual artist, and teaching artist. She is the owner and creator of greeting cards that represent her community as well as her family. She writes and prints about Guayabas, her Madre, her grandmothers, and memories.
Sobre nuestro artista docente:
Xitlalic Guijosa-Osuna es una michoacana-sinaloense del sureste de Los Ángeles, poeta, artista visual y artista docente. Es propietaria y creadora de tarjetas de felicitación que representan tanto a su comunidad como a su familia. Escribe e imprime sobre Guayabas, su madre, sus abuelas y sus recuerdos.
