The Nasty Nati Brass Band is a New Orleans-styled brass band based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Founded in 2014 by trumpeter/Band leader Mike Wade, the band is made up of a diverse group of musicians who share a love for the rich and vibrant music of New Orleans. The band's name is a nod to Cincinnati's nickname, "Nasty Nati," the 1990 World Champion Cincinnati Reds “Nasty Boys” Baseball Team, and reflects the band's commitment to celebrating and promoting the city's unique culture and heritage.
The Nasty Nati Brass Band is known for its energetic live performances, which feature a mix of traditional New Orleans jazz, funk, soul and Go-Go. The band's high-energy sound and infectious rhythms have made them a favorite among audiences in Cincinnati and beyond. In addition to performing at local festivals and events, the band has also released several albums, including "Nasty Nati Brass Band" (2020) and "Bengal Anthem" (2021). This year in addition to performing at the 2024 Cincinnati Tennis OPEN, the Nasty NATI Brass Band will be performing for The Ohio State Football Program and at The Cincinnati Bengals vs. Philadelphia Eagles Football Game in October 2024! With their unique sound and infectious energy, the Nasty Nati Brass Band is a true gem of the Cincinnati music scene and a testament to the power of community and collaboration in music. Mike Wade & TNNBB are scheduled to perform two Bengal Football this season (2025-2026), in November & December.
