About this Event
This is a 4-week, wheel throwing class for beginners or new potters. Students will learn to prepare and center clay, throw and trim tumblers, small bowls and side plates using electric pottery wheels.
Much of Kim's work is highly decorative and this class will include an introduction to the sgraffitto surface decoration technique. Together pieces will be simply glazed and available to collect up to 2 weeks after the class finish date.
Bring an apron, a towel, your creative spirit and a willingness to get a little bit dirty!
Thursday evenings for 4 weeks (from 17th Oct - 7th Nov) 6pm - 8pm.
2kg clay, firing costs, slips and glazes are included. Extra clay is $5 per KG
Please remember to stay home if you are unwell. Mask wearing during the class will be optional.
Course cancellation policy as follows:
3+ weeks prior to start of term students will get a $160 refund.
1+ week prior to start of term students will get a $100 refund.
Cancellations less than 1 week prior to class starting due to illness, bad weather or any other reason will not be given any refund. If you are unable to attend a class during the term, we are unable to guarantee any makeup sessions.
We reserve the right to cancel a class with insufficient enrolment. A full refund will be issued in this case including any Eventbrite fees.
Kim has a tertiary qualification in visual arts, a post graduate diploma in teaching and has immersed herself in the world of ceramics for 3+ years. Kim is a tutor for our youth class, this beginners wheel class and has a small but bustling home studio. Her background includes working with youth and the disability sector.
