Writer-director Archie Hambleton presents "It Takes a Child (to Raise a Village)" - a heart-warmingly absurd tale about lending a hand during the countdown to Christmas."It Takes a Child" shows the world through the eyes of Angel: a teen shopkeeper whose good deeds ripple through his small community. The people he serves aren't afraid to ask for the earth, so will he be able to help them all whilst keeping his other customers satisfied? This brand-new play invites audiences to reflect on generosity and the spirit of togetherness during the festive season - all whilst having a bit of fun.
The event takes place within The Buxton Crescent Experience, housed in the iconic Georgian Crescent, an architectural treasure that once hosted a subscription library and newsroom, a post office, and petrification shops selling ornaments crafted from marble and blue-john. The setting offers a rich historical backdrop for Archie’s contemporary storytelling, connecting past and present through place and purpose.
Booking is required for this special performance.
