About this Event

Are you or someone you know navigating the incarceration of a family member or loved one? Join us at Nine PBS for a special screening of the short documentary Apart - an Emmy award winning episode of Sesame Workshop’s documentary series, Through Our Eyes. This unique series spotlights the perspective of children as they experience some of the most challenging issues facing families today.

America has the world’s largest Pr*son population, and 1 in 14 children in the country will experience the incarceration of a parent. Apart follows three children as they contend with the incarceration of parents with whom they maintain a deep connection despite physical distance.

After the film, Nine PBS Producer Leah Gullet will share a story segment providing insight about the impact of parental incarceration here in our region. Join Nine PBS to explore this topic in a brave community setting. All ages are welcome. Lunch will be provided along with family-friendly activities in collaboration with Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri.
