About this Event
Thriving Together: Coping with Criticism & Family Dynamics will focus on coping with common criticism and challenging stigmas surrounding mental health. We will explore the impact of these issues on families, address caregiver burnout, and emphasize the importance of self-care. Caregivers will have the opportunity to discuss their challenges and share strategies for navigating these experiences.
The Let's Talk: Parent 2 Parent series, presented by Janel Parker, LCSW, is specifically designed for parents and guardians who are caring for children with mental health conditions. It's primary goal is to reassure participants that they are not alone in their journey, while offering clear, accessible insights into common mental health diagnoses affecting children. Throughout the workshop series, participants will gain valuable strategies to address both external and internal stigma, explore effective and compassionate discipline approaches, and receive practical tips on how to navigate the complexities of the school system.
This event is part of the Ascend Community Workshop series. Seats are limited, and pre-registration is required. Refreshments will be available.
