About this Event

'Thrive in Wine' is the second event in the Club Thrive series.

This event will spotlight industry models who have established careers within the fields that we will be offering scholarships for this year. For Thrive in Wine, we are offering 9 scholarships across WSET levels 1-3.

The event format will include panel discussion, product tastings, and networking.

The phenomenal pannelists are:-

Luma Monterio - Luma Monteiro is a Marketing executive for fine wines, wholesale and retail. Experienced wine judge at Decanter, Mundus Vini and various international wine awards, Luma is finishing her Level 4 Diploma and also runs Wineria, one of the UK's most successful wine Instagram accounts.

Anoushica Matthews - Anoushica is the founder of Sweet Spice wines, a platform celebrating the incredible people of colour in the wine industry through wine tasting events, along side her role in the Liberty Wines Sales team where she looks after the South London area.

Luke West-Whylie - Luke West-Whylie is one of the co-founding trio of Peckham Cellars - a Michelin Bib Gourmand-toting restaurant, wine bar & shop in south east London, which opened to critical acclaim in 2019. After pivoting the business to an online wine shop during lockdown, the neighbourhood wine bar has become a staple to its loyal customers- spreading an ethos of genuine love for good wine, great food and friendly service.

Winnie Toh - Winnie is currently the head sommelier for The Aubrey, London’s first eccentric izakaya restaurant, located at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park. She is currently preparing for the coveted master sommelier diploma, and believes faith, grit, humility and a loving community are her guiding torches towards the finishing line.

The panel will be hosted by:-

Audrey Annoh-Antwi - Audrey Annoh-Antwi is Sommelier/Front of House at Planque Restaurant in Haggerston, London. She is an ambassador for Be Inclusive Hospitality and sometimes a drinks writer, wine judge and event host.

Our wine educators are:-

Mags Janjo - Magnavai has spent his entire working life in the wine industry. He specialises in the commercial aspect of wine and has created wine brands for some leading UK supermarkets. In 2020 he established BAME Wine Professionals, an organisation aimed at shining a spotlight on wine talent in the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities.

Shane Jones - Shane is an accredited wine and sake educator with WSET Diploma and is an enthusiastic sparkling wine specialist. With an interest in sake coming later in his career, Shane is a Certified Sake Sommelier and Sake Educator (SSA).
