Welcome to THRIVE Calgary 2024! Join us at Hotel Arts for an exciting in-person event where you can connect, learn, and grow.
This year, the THRIVE Calgary conference is: Be That One Yes. With the Canadian government's commitment to welcoming 1.5 million newcomers over the next three years, THRIVE will highlight the importance of giving an internationally trained professional The One Yes that brings them back into their professional field in Canada, and how newcomers can increase their chances of getting The One Yes. In so doing supporting and contributing to Calgary’s social and economic fabric.
The conference will explore the following topics:
Attract – Explore why hiring internationally trained professionals is considered a “risk” by some employers and gain knowledge, tools and resources that will help employers mitigate perceived risks. For job seekers, we’ll look at how to market yourself to stand out to recruiters and hiring managers.
Recruit – Think like a recruiter and explore how you can utilize the talent and experience of internationally trained professionals to bring fresh perspectives and ideas to your team and organization.
Onboard – Learn about the importance and best practices of a smooth onboarding process and how it can enhance workplace culture and employee loyalty. Internationally trained professionals can learn how to optimize their onboarding experience to lessen “learning curve pains” later.
Retain – Explore innovative approaches and unique initiatives that will promote retention in organizations. These include mentorship, career progression, cultivating inclusion and learning about what and tested strategies will have the greatest impact.
