Have you ever dreamed of dressing up like a zombie and breaking into Thriller with your community on Halloween night? Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or just dying to unleash your inner zombie, this is your chance.
Learn the iconic Thriller choreography step by step and join in Asheville’s Halloween flashmob tradition. We’ll bring the thrill to life with a surprise performance in an undisclosed location on Halloween night!
5- Week Series Option
Meets every Sunday from 3-4:15 starting Sunday, September 28th - Sunday, Oct 26th. Classes meet at Uphora Dance + Fitness at 1501 Patton Ave. The dance is taught in fun, manageable sections, evenly paced across 5 weeks to make it easy for all levels. Classes include warm-up & practice videos so you have all the tools you need to rehearse at home.
Weekend Workshop Option
Can’t make the full series? You can still dance with us! Join the weekend Thriller Workshop at the Wortham Center for Performing Arts (Henry LaBrun Studio) on Sat, Oct 25 (1–5 PM) and Sun, Oct 26 (12–2 PM + final rehearsal 3–4:15 PM). Get show-ready in one fun, connected weekend for $50.
Zombie Drop-in Option (Performance Only)
Already know the Thriller dance? Skip the rehearsals and show up performance-ready on Halloween night to join the mob. Arrive in your zombie costume, bring your undead energy, and be ready to thrill Asheville!
About the Instructor
Leslie Rogers has been leading Asheville’s Thriller flashmob since 2017, keeping this spooky tradition alive for dancers of all ages. She is the founder and director of Trillium Dance Company (2013–2020), a lifelong dancer and choreographer, and a graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in Dance Education. Leslie has studied and taught internationally and has choreographed, performed, and directed dance for over a decade. This will be her 5th Thriller flashmob in Asheville—and she’s thrilled to keep the tradition growing into an annual Halloween adventure.
