About this Event

University of Galway's Threesis Grand Finale will feature short talks from inspiring postgraduate research students.

After a series of six heats, 12 finalists have been chosen as contestants for the finale. They will share the story of their research using just three presentation slides, in three minutes, in front of three judges.

Each finalist will compete to inspire, entertain and inform the audience as they explain the potential impact of their research in a clear and engaging manner.

Our 3 guest judges on the night will be John Crumlish (Galway International Arts Festival), and Dr Silvia Maretto (Research Office, University of Galway), and our previous winner Victoria Ward, (final-year PhD Researcher at the School of Medicine, Univeristy of Galway).

The audience also get to vote for their favourite speaker on the night.

Our MC for the evening will be Dr Jessamyn Fairfield (Physics, University of Galway).

Threesis is organised by the Office of the Vice-President for Research and Innovation at University of Galway with the involvement and support from across the university.
