Join us on Third Friday for an Artist Talk featuring Fritzi Huber and Melissa Wilgis as they give us insight on their work and exhibition, Three Story Tellers.Huber, a papermaker, incorporates found natural objects into her artwork, highlighting the importance of the local environment. Her use of recycled materials also illustrates change and transformation while connecting to elements of the past. Weber, a fine artist and illustrator, creates varied artwork with aspects of Southern Gothic and whimsy, adding a touch of light-heartedness and joy, alluding to the importance of nature and animals in human life. Among her many photography processes, Wilgis creates cyanotype photograms of shadows from her back porch. This technique makes the passage of time tangible, adding a unique storytelling element and implies a feeling of nostalgia and the idea of being present in the moment.
