Come make a Scythian hat! We will be using Viven NicUldoon's pattern, also easily found on her blog. The pattern is user friendly, and modifies well to personal preferences and style choices.Extant hats are usually felted wool, and I recommend felt, or thicker wool fabric. I have made hats using 2 linen layers and a stiffening strip across the top seam (may be hidden or used as decoration). That is to say, we can make many fabrics work.
Please bring all the usual sewing debris if you have it. I will bring my sewing debris and a machine, though hand sewing this piece is quick and easy. If you choose felt you will do a “baseball” stitch by hand.
*The decorations on the hat pictured are custom to my hat. I will bring the appliqué pattern. You are also encouraged to imagine whatever beautiful additions you might like."
