About this Event
Learn the techniques of master portrait painters by completing three small master copies of specific portrait features throughout the course of this workshop! Students will examine the structure and anatomy of the eyes, nose, and mouth as portrayed by a master painter and learn to observe the subtle value shifts, color choices and edge variety that allow Old Master portraits to look so powerfully realistic. Each day of this workshop presents a new opportunity for learning as participants paint a close study of one feature per canvas per day ending with a small trilogy of perfectly-studied anatomical features. As we will work from photo references provided by the instructor, there will be time for additional study from the comfort of your home studio. This yearโs artist is TBD. This is an in-person workshop as the instructor will teach in person in the studio in Manchester, CT. Participants may also join through Zoom from anywhere in the world. Lodging is available close to the studio. Email for contact information. If you know a special someone who would love to attend this event, ask for a personalized Gift Certificate! ๐ Provide details upon registration or contact the studio to explore presentation options. ๐
