About the bands:
The Stony Six - a bunch of musicians from South Gippsland who, together, create joyous and buoyant contemporary acoustic music. Their influences are broad, and the resulting sound is eclectic and marvellous. Delightful vocal harmonies are the bedrock of the band, with strings, wind and sticks rounding out their sound. The Stony Six present their own originals as well as recreating covers in new and surprising ways. All members are passionate about inclusive music making. The line-up is Jane Coker (clarinet, mandolin), Jenneke Kijlstra-Shone (accordion, percussion, uke, guitar), Tanya Nolan (guitar, ukulele, percussion) Dave Paxton (guitar, clarinet) and Caitlin Pilkington (fiddle, percussion, uke). We all sing! Look out for our new album coming out soon!
The Cherry Reds are an almost all-original indie folk collaboration of 5 female and gender diverse musicians, drawing on country, folk, gospel, rock & blues. Featuring songwriter Rachel Wilson on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, lead guitarist Poppy Turbiak, bass player/singer Heidi Sanghvi, singer Emily Hayes, and drummer/singer Fionn Ellwood, their music tells homegrown stories of love and loss that are heartwarming, luscious, quirky and gritty. They share deep roots in community choirs and music making, folk and rock bands, and songwriting circles. Their performance style is warm and inclusive, encouraging of audience participation and known to feature a pop-up choir!
All the Way Home are Craig Barrie & Nicki Johnson, crafting original folky tunes seductively spiced with a hint of pop. Their joyful and intimate stories of being human, losing yourself and finding your place feature delicious vocal harmony and lyrics to break your heart and lift your spirits. Jangly guitar brings catchy riffs and toe-tapping rhythm while sweet and soulful ukulele adds a touch of colour and sparkle.
Drawing on their many years of choir and community music leading experience, this Melbourne duo will have you sing, sing, singing – all the way home!
