"We are all links in a great chain of being β€” stretching back into the mists of time and forward into the unknown future. To forget our ancestors is to sever a vital connection, leaving us adrift, without the nourishment of true roots."

β€” Indigenous wisdom

Tuition

🌱 Roots β€” $285

🌿 Branches β€” $325

β˜€οΈ Sunlight β€” $365

🌰 Seeds β€” $215 (15 spots)

Tuition fees are subject to 13% HST.

Threads of our Ancestors is an immersive Movement Medicine journey into awakening the threads of connection with our ancestors β€” embracing their gifts and resilience, while giving space and care to healing their suffering.

On the dance floor, we fall into wild, spontaneous dances together and experience the profound interconnectedness of life. This resource both grounds us deeply in the body and enlivens our awake-ness.

From this space, we will dive into reclaiming the threads of our ancestral lineages β€” the good, the troubled, and the disowned.

During this workshop, we will:

  • Resource deeply in the dance β€” grounding in the body and opening to awake-ness
  • Support and inspire each other
  • Get curious about the wounds and suffering of our ancestors that live on in our own embodiment
  • Awaken and embrace places of shame, numbness, and the transgressions of our ancestors
  • Dance the undigested, dance for reclamation, and dance for forgiveness
  • Learn to stand more fully in our lineage with honesty and open relation to things as they are

The more fully we stand in our lineage with love, honesty, and forgiveness, the more we open beyond our edges of numbness and undigested emotion.

Deepening together, the We-Space becomes a richer and more present field of love β€” compassionate, joyful, vibrant, and intimate beyond separation.

πŸ’¬ Testimonials

β€œWe have known Jo for many years and recognise in her a truly beautiful blend born of her many years of dedicated practice and enquiry. She is wise, funny, and a truly unique dancer with a heart of gold and an uncompromising intelligence. Jo’s wisdom and depth links the personal, archetypal, and collective. She’s a force of nature who will stay with you wherever your journey leads.” β€” Ya’Acov & Susannah Darling Khan, The School of Movement Medicine

I so appreciate the deep listening and presence you brought β€” the way you are amongst us, the people, and not outside, above, below, or elsewhere, but simply on the ground with the rest of us. This ensures everyone feels welcome and included, and gives permission and space for all parts to be seen, held, and moved. Love the way you work. You have distilled it down to a fine art, and I will not stop asking you to share this distillation with others. I am in the long line-up of people who would love to learn from you… waiting.” β€” Julia Ray, Ecstatic Dance Toronto

I am at a loss for words to really describe how beautiful and potent the weekend was. It was simply a gift that is shining brightly in me today so powerfully β€” and I have a feeling it will continue shining for a good long while yet. Yes, to this potent medicine you bring, Jo, this sweet combination. Yes and wow, what a beautiful offering in this world.” β€” Sharon, Soul Motion Teacher
