Visit the restored early 1800's home of Missouri’s second governor, Frederick Bates. During open houses, you can learn about Bates’ role in the Missouri Territory and life on the frontier. Thornhill Estate also includes historic outbuildings and the burial site of Governor Bates and his wife, Nancy.
Note: The August Open House will highlight the 200th anniversary of Governor Frederick Bates’ death in August 1825, and may not be appropriate for all visitors.
