About this Event
We are Stuart and Emma and we are willow weavers based in South Norfolk. We make baskets and gifts using willow grown in Somerset as well as willow that we harvest ourselves in Norfolk and Suffolk.
We run monthly willow weaving classes for adults with a focus on fun and wellbeing while exploring some traditional basketry skills. Each month we'll teach a new willow project - from birdfeeders through to Christmas decoratons. Come along monthly, or dip in now and then.
All tools and materials will be provided as well as teas, coffees and biscuits.
Arrive from 6:30 and we aim to be weaving by 6:45.
In January's workshop, we'll be weaving small, wooden based baskets using a traditional basketry weave called waling. These mini baskets make great pencil pots, utensil jars or small plant pot holders.
Thompson Community Hall is a modern building with good parking, facilities and accessibilty.
