Composer Matteo Fargion and choreographer Jonathan Burrows invite you to a day long workshop in connection with their current collaboration with the Bøler Samvirkelag women's collective, looking at questions of how to balance the many and overlapping elements at play in the making of a performance, including concept, context, image, form, dramaturgy, materials and daily practice. The workshop will be a mixture of practical work and discussion, with the workshop split into two halves: Matteo will spend the first part looking at composition, followed by Jonathan discussing more dramaturgical issues in the afternoon.
The workshop is suitable for anyone at professional level interested in performance - formal dance skills not required.
The two artists Fargion and Burrows have been collaborators for over thirty years, building a body of work which straddles the line between dance, music, performance art and comedy. Their work has drawn an international following for its integrity, openness and independent stance.
Burrows and Fargion will show their work The Unison Piece at Norma T Saturday the 10th of May, followed by an artist talk. From the 13th to the 16th of May, Bøler Samvirkelag is going to show the piece Bøler Samvirkelag Music at Studioscenen at Dansens Hus. A piece made in collaboration with Burrows and Fargion.
