This avant-garde jazz ensemble promises an evening of uncharted musical territories, inviting those with a taste for the unconventional to join the experience. With a commitment to pushing boundaries, the quartet delivers a wild and audacious sound, challenging listeners to embrace the unpredictability of the music. The Cantab Lounge will be transformed into an intimate haven, offering a raw and unfiltered atmosphere for enthusiasts seeking the essence of avant-garde jazz.

Martin Gohary is an avant-garde pianist + composer whose uncompromising vision and relentless recording schedule have established him as a rising performer in the contemporary music scene. His music defies categorization, blending elements of 20th-century concert music, jazz, electronic, and experimental music into a unique and captivating sound. With each new release, Gohary pushes the boundaries of what is possible with the piano, exploring new techniques and textures that challenge both himself and his audience. His music is both challenging and accessible, and his performances are always thrilling and unpredictable. Whether he is playing solo or collaborating with other musicians, Martin Gohary's music is always fresh, exciting, and deeply satisfying.

Erik Van Dam plays flute, bari, tenor, alto, and soprano saxophones. Having studied with the highly acclaimed Joe Lovano and later Hal Crook, Erik has gone on to draw inspiration from many influences, including Lovano, Sam Rivers, and Eric Dolphy. Erik has crafted a sound of his own. He has also spent time working and performing with Bob Moses, Bill Lowe, Stan Strickland, and Fred Ho’s Monkey Orchestra. Former performance ensembles include Erik’s jazz trio TRIOSOPHY, his all-improvisational quartet SRUTI, as well as "The Sonic Construct Funk Project, and a nine-piece rock group "Strange Changes. " Erik has performed internationally in Tokyo, Paris, Jamaica, and Bulgaria. Erik currently performs at many venues in Massachusetts as well as jazz clubs in NYC. In addition to being a musician, Erik is an avid creative painter and sculptor who teaches art professionally in a local school system.

John Dalton is a Boston based musician, composer, and educator. As a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, he received a diverse musical education, especially in his studies with Chris Poudrier and Jim Robitaille. while there, he developed fluency in a variety of styles as both an improvising musician and composer. John also leads the group Spheres of influence, which is a modular ensemble that performs original compositions, standards, as well as arrangements of well known repertoire. The group size is flexible, but it is most often operates as a trio, quartet, or quintet. The group has played at various concerts and occasions in the greater Boston area.

Evan Palmer's music draws from a wide variety of influences. These include jazz, Latin, European classical, and folk, but with a focus on improvisation, avant-garde music and experimentation. Their music comes from a place of freedom and exploration, with a desire to create sounds that have never been heard before.
Palmer is a frequent feature of the New England improvised music and jazz scenes. They have performed and/or recorded as a sideperson with many artists including Francisco Mela, Tony Malaby, Phil Grenadier, Joel LaRue Smith, Shinya Lin, Jim Robitaille, and Leo Blanco.
