About this Event
Risograph printing is often described as digital screen printing. Think screen printing but with the convenience of a photocopier.
Associate Artist Heidi Sharp will help you create a limited edition Risograph print inspired by the Essex landscape, from the waterways and woodlands to the coast and the cities. You will learn how to cut and paste shapes and colours to make your own collage, and then print it using this addictive DIY printing process. You will love the vivid colours and stunning imperfections of your artwork.
Riso has a reputation as a DIY publishing process with vivid colours and stunning imperfections. A cheap method to produce zines, posters and short run art prints.
Perfect as a 101 introduction to the principals of Riso or for those simply wanting to give the craft a go for the first time.
THE ASSOCIATE ARTIST
Having studied Fine Art, I am often inspired by the Pop Art movement and enjoy exploring the themes of social media and consumerism when working more conceptually.
Printmaking allows me to tap into these themes given its trait of being able to print such large quantities at a fast pace, reflecting the mass produced element of both areas.
