The Southern University Museum of Art at Shreveport (SUMAS) is proud to announce the opening of “This Is Us,” a powerful portrait photography exhibition by Shreveport-based creative Ron Brown. The exhibition opens with a special reception on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at 610 Texas Street, Shreveport, LA 71104.Ron Brown is a portrait photographer whose work captures the essence of everyday Black life with authenticity, warmth, and depth. Through intimate, emotionally rich portraits, she honors the people, stories, and cultural legacy of her community. Each image is more than a photograph — it’s a reflection of identity, resilience, and connection.
