A great lineup for the first of our series of Thursday evening shows at Moon - Bottom Bunk Club, Dakota Rose, Bill Lake Slowbake, and Yellowrooms.
For the debut show Moon will have thirst quenching drinks deals from Captains brewery and some food specials on the day too.
Bottom Bunk Club - Bottom Bunk Club is an acoustic punk/folk trio. They combine heavy-handed chord bashing with heavy-handed lyrical metaphors to create songs that you can't help but sing along with. Topics for discussion include: vomit, disregarding authority, getting dumped, and Japanese sea monsters.
Dakota Rose - California raised, Dakota Rose has been playing, performing, & writing from a young age. With musical influences from Stevie Nicks to Dolly Parton, Dakota’s sound blends indie folk and Americana. Her music reflects her connection to home and her personal journey of self exploration, love, loss, growth, and mental health struggles.
Bill Lake Slowbake - Veteran Wellington musician Bill Lake performs original songs in a bluesy vein with a touch of country. Steve Hemmens adds warmth and swing on acoustic bass. Alan Norman (Warratahs, Rag Poets) provides percussive and other sounds.
Yellowrooms - Yellow Rooms are Wellington based sister duo Sarah and Grace Lawrence. The sisters swap between the violin, guitar, keys and vocals on songs that are both soulful and witty. Listen out for their first EP that will be released later this year.
