Thirdsday Nite #014 features the Rob Lindquist Sextet on Thursday, November 20th - live from the Van Dyck Music Club!
Keyboardist/Composer Robert Lindquist was born and raised in Albany, New York. He has played piano since he was seven and started composing and improvising shortly thereafter. He attended SCCC and SUNY Potsdam for Music Education/Performance and recently Masters in Jazz Studies at The College of St. Rose. He is trained in both classical and jazz piano. His teachers have included Dan Dobek, Mark Evans, Eugenia Tsarov, Lee Shaw, and Brett Zvacek. Rob has appeared in performance with Chuck D'Aloia, Jeff Seigel, Dave Calarco, John Menegon, Scott Weinholdt, Harry Allen, Dick Oatts and Brett Zvacek.
He has performed professionally since he was fifteen in upstate NY and also in Boston, NYC, and N.J playing many styles including jazz, rock and classical music. He has played gigs with: the Dave Calarco "Jazz Conclave", "New Regime", "EW Quintet", "Lee Russo Group", "Mike Dimin Ensemble", " Keith Pray Group", "Brian Patneaude Quintet", "Cleen Street R&B Band", "Soul System", "Melting Picassos" and "The Karen Lawrence Band". He has also free-lanced with many other groups in the area. Rob has taught privately for ten years and is currently a Band Director in the Albany City School District.
The Rob Lindquist Sextet will feature Brian Patneaude on Sax, Dylan Canterbury on Trumpet, Jason Emmond on Bass, Matt Niedbalski on Drums, and George Muscatello on guitar, led by Rob on the Keys - don't miss them at the Van Dyck Music Club on Thirdsday Nite, 12/18!
