Third Thursdays Poetry: November


Ruth Chad is a psychologist who lives and works in Boston. Her poems have appeared in
Les Poesies de Montreal, Ibbetson Street, Lily Poetry Review, Writing in a Woman’s Voice
and many other literary magazines. Her chapbook in 2017. “The Sound of Angels”, was published in 2017 by Cervena Barva Press. Her latest book, ”In the Absence of Birds”, was published by Cervena Barva Press in 2024. Ruth was nominated for a Pushcart prize in 2021.

Ron Slate’s most recent collection of poems is Joy Ride (Carnegie Mellon, 2023). He edits and publishes the online literary journal On The Seawall from his home in Aquinnah on Martha’s Vineyard.

Donna Spruijt-Metz is author of ‘To Phrase a Prayer for Peace’ (Wildhouse Publishing, 2025) and ‘General Release from the Beginning of the World’ (Free Verse Editions, 2023). She’s an emeritus professor, MacDowell fellow, rabbinical school drop-out, and former classical flutist. Her collaborative book ‘And Scuttle My Balloon’ (with Flower Conroy) and her translation from the Dutch of Lucas Hirsch’s ‘Wu Wei Eats an Egg’ are forthcoming (2025). Chapbooks include ‘Slippery Surfaces’, ‘And Haunt the World’ (with Flower Conroy). and ‘Dear Ghost’ (winner Harbor Review Editor’s prize). Her poems appear in Poem-a-day, Alaska Quarterly Review, American Poetry Review, and elsewhere. She gets restless

Deborah Leipziger is an author, poet, and advisor on sustainability. She is the author of several books on human rights and sustainability. Born in Brazil, Deborah’s poems have been published in ten countries in such magazines as Salamander, Revista Cardenal, The Bombay Literary Magazine, and Inkwell. Her poetry collection Story & Bone was published by Lily Poetry Review Books. Deborah is the founder of the Lexicon of Change, a guide to social and environmental transformation. The recipient of grants from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, Deborah has been on writing residencies at the T S Eliot House and has received four Pushcart Prize nominations. She has been awarded a Jews of the Americas Fellowship by Brandeis University and served as a Community Creative Fellow with JArts in 2023-2024. Deborah was the Poet in Residence at the Vilna Shul in Boston in 2024.
