About this Event

Third Sector Lab and CodeBase Glasgow are delighted to bring a Digital Trustees Matchmaking event to The Social Hub Glasgow on the evening of Tuesday 22nd October from 6pm - 8.30pm.
What is a Digital Trustee?

A Digital Trustee is a volunteer with experience in digital, data or design who sits on the Board of a third sector organisation. They provide guidance to the organisation around how they can best make use of digital as well as insight into best digital practices.
Why host Digital Trustee matchmaking events?
Through matchmaking events and sharing resources and experiences, Third Sector Lab are making it easier than ever to connect charities and professionals from tech, data, design, IT and other digital backgrounds. They also hold regular online matchmaking events which are a fantastic opportunity for third sector organisations to meet a variety digital professionals.

Come along to learn more about how digital skills at board level can transform the third sector and see if you would be interested in becoming a digital trustee or recruiting someone for your organisation.
Who will be there?
Along with guest speakers listed below, you will meet staff from Third Sector Lab and CodeBase Glasgow, with a variety of wider business, tech ecosystem and third sector organisations/stakeholders from the wider regional business community.
Who should attend?
While we welcome guests from a variety of backgrounds, we would love to see a mixture of third sector organisations and founders with their teams/business professionals with experience in a variety of digial backgrounds in the space, to maximise shared learning experiences and the best matchmaking.
What to expect during the session/what you will learn
Throughout the evening co-hosted by CodeBase Glasgow and Third Sector Lab, there will be time for networking with other guests before and after the session.
During the session we will be hearing lightning talks from guest speakers Sooz Young, founder of Technology Coaching, and Martin Avila, Chief Executive of CEIS.
The heart of the session will be facilitated sessions with questions which will help organisations find the perfect digital trustee for them!
Before attending the session, please complete a profile to recruit a digital trustee or become a digital trustee on the Third Sector Lab website so that organisations or potential trustees can get in contact.

Registration

This is an in-person event.
We ask everyone to sign up individually, so we can have an estimate of how many people want to attend. This will allow us to prevent waste. Please cancel your ticket via Eventbrite if you are no longer able to attend.

We will check-in each person on Eventbrite as they sign up, so make sure you've signed up to the event in order to attend!

We also encourage everyone to sign up individually so we know of any accessibility requirements in advance.

What is Techscaler? (To be included if the event is Techscaler enabled)

Techscaler is a Scottish Government funded programme, delivered by CodeBase, and offers tailored support for everyone in Scotland who wants to build a startup, whether they are considering a career in startups or are developing, building and scaling an idea.

We offer Community and Member access to world-class education, a peer-led online and offline community, and flexible workspaces.

Techscaler membership is for any prospective or current startup founder, startup employees, or more broadly anyone who is involved in the Scottish tech ecosystem.
