Things That Matter is a free, conversational-style speaker series hosted monthly at the Montminy Gallery inside the Boone County History & Culture Center in Columbia, Missouri. Designed to spark meaningful conversations, this series features real people sharing personal stories that connect us to our community’s past and present.Join us for the next program in our Things That Matter speaker series on Wednesday, October 15 at 5:30pm with Eric Kopinski, Program Director for MoDOT’s Improve I-70 Project. Eric will share the history of Interstate 70, details of the nearly 200-mile statewide improvement effort, and what the future holds for Boone County’s travelers, businesses, and communities.
From the I-70 and Highway 63 interchange project to long-term safety and economic benefits, this talk will give you an inside look at one of the largest transportation initiatives in Missouri’s history. Attendees will also learn about upcoming timelines, traffic impacts, and opportunities for community engagement.
