About this Event

Internationally-renowned musician & composer M A L U invites us to experience both sides of the US/Mexico border fence as one.


<h4>As we listen to M A L U's original composition "The UNDIVIDED: Concerto #1 for American Violin, Mexican Violin and Electronica", images of musical notes and our shared landscape pan across a scale replica of a section of the border fence.</h4><h4>The language of music unites and transcends political borders and cultural divides.</h4>


<h4>"The UNDIVIDED" has been selected as a featured event in the World Design Capital - San Diego Tijuana 2024 program.</h4>
<h4>As an added treat, M A L U will be joined by the internationally acclaimed artist Hugo Crosthwaite, exhibiting his latest work.

M A L U is a classical and electronic musician. Holding multiple under-graduate & graduate degrees in music, violin performance, arts and education, she has toured the world performing her original music, composing original scores for film and conducting orchestras.

<h4>The most pain-free way to come downtown is to take rideshare or the trolley. IDEA1 is in between the City College and Park & Market stops serving both Orange & Blue Lines.</h4>


<h4>The only accessible entry to IDEA1 is the front gate on F Street, next to the Lola55 taco restaurant and across the street from the Newschool of Architecture. We will have someone greeting people at the gate. LCFAStudio is unit #120 on the courtyard.</h4>
