About this Event
Twenty-five theatre scholars will represent Mississippi at the International Thespian Festival June 23-28, 2024, in Bloomington, Indiana. Thespian Troupe 4909's one-act show was awarded as one of the top high school productions in Mississippi and was also chosen to represent Mississippi at the international festival along with each state's best-of-the-best.
Scholars participated in the Mississippi Thespian Conference in Meridian where they faced stiff competition from talented peers statewide. Wells APAC Theatre JXN stood out among notable participants representing private and public schools from Gulfport to Tupelo.
Their production of "Property Rites," by Alan Haehnel caught the attention of judges. "Property Rites" explores themes of autonomy by following an art curator and his AI art piece. Scholars have spent several months investing time and energy into portraying this story. Now, they're bringing this production to back to their home base as part of their fundraising to cover all travel and expenses to Indiana University. Each team member needs $1000 to attend the week-long theatre festival.
Come support these talented thespians and see their award-winning production! Donations can also be made directly to our GoFundMe at https://gofund.me/70c613dc.
