About this Event
We Grew Up Here is a reflective, community-centered therapy night for people who grew up in NYC and still live here, those navigating the quiet grief of watching their childhood blocks, rituals, and landmarks disappear.
This is a space to talk about what it feels like when:
- your corner store becomes a luxury condo
- your memories no longer match the street you walk down
- staying feels like resistance, not comfort
Through guided conversation, gentle prompts, and shared stories, we’ll explore how gentrification impacts mental health, identity, belonging, and memory, while holding space for resilience, pride, and care.
This is not group therapy, but we will have a licensed therapist leading the conversation.
It’s a third space, soft, intentional, and held with respect.
